Definition of Antibody Microarray

A certain form of microarray of protein is termed as an antibody microarray and it is a technique in which a number of antibodies are spotted on a surface of a material such as plastic, glass, or a silicon chip. This fixation of the antibodies leads us to determine the interactions that exist between the antibody and the target antigen.

The technique of antibody microarray is typically employed when the protein expression from the serum, cell lysates, and plasma is to be detected and analyzed. This has now become a common tool in research and diagnostic laboratories.
