Definition of Bimodal

Bimodal is an approach where the company manages two parallel styles of works. Mode 1 style is focused on predictability while Mode 2 style is focused on exploration.

Mode 1 style is optimized for areas that are already known and predictable. This style of work is focused on the full use of what is known. In Mode 2 style, different experiments are carried out to solve the problems or improve the existing operations.

Both modes are critical in bringing significant change and value to the company. The bimodal approach is never static. Bring innovation and enhancements in the existing products or processes and finding solutions to challenges is the real essence of the bimodal in the organization.
