Definition of Chemical Formula

A chemical formula is made up of symbols of elements participating in the reaction, the number of their atoms and molecules, signs of brackets, commas, plus, minus, dashes, etc. and it is a method by which the information regarding the chemical ratios of the atoms of the chemical compound is represented.

The chemical formulas constitute a single line of symbols and they also include the super and subscripts. It does not contain the full name of the chemical. It has the ability to give us all the whole information about the structure of simple and small molecules.
