Definition of Employee Assistance Program



An Employee Assistance Program is an employer-sponsored free of cost program for an employee to help the employee in resolving them that may have a great effect on the productivity of the employee. EAPs usually work with employees with issues like drinking alcohol, elder care, relationship advice, financial challenges, legal advice, wellness matters, emotional problems or workplace challenges, etc.

 


EAP counselor also works closely with the managers of the organization to develop a healthy work environment and relationship between employees and the organization and address the challenges between them.
