Definition of Holographic Will

The handwritten will written by the testator i.e. the person who is making the will is said to be the holographic will in the terms of the law. This will have no witness except the testator writing the will. Most of the courts do not find the holographic will valid because there is no witness other than the testator.

The will must be written by the testator’s handwriting. Holographic will needs few steps which include testators name with complete address, specific in writing the amount, residuary clause and a signature at the end of that will.
