Definition of Hydrofluorocarbons

Hydrofluorocarbons are such industrial chemicals that are used in the processes like cooling and refrigeration and insulation foams as well as in aerosols. These chemical compounds were developed to replace such substances which were damaging the ozone by reacting with it. Ozone (O3) is known to be a shield that protects the earth from ultraviolet radiation and keeps the temperature of the earth normal.

When it is depleted, global warming happens which has quite drastic effects. Hydrofluorocarbon is known to be a very important and impactful gas of greenhouse. HFCs are completely synthetic and their occurrence in the atmosphere is relatively very low.
