Definition of Kanba



Kanban is a scheduling system established by an industrial Toyota engineer, Taiichi Ohno in Japan.  To enhance the operations of the company, the Kanban system is broadly used in lean manufacturing and just in time manufacturing. Through this visual workflow system, all manufacturing process is analyzed.

 


Kanban works in between the visual workflow process and the actual workflow process carried out at work. Through this system, any hurdle in the manufacturing process is identified, fixed, or eliminated to achieve work efficiency at a higher speed.
