Definition of Organization Structure



Organization structure is the arrangement by which the hierarchy of an organization is specified. Who reports to whom, who performs certain roles, what are the rules, what are certain jobs, and what functions do those jobs perform? All of these arrangements are called organization structure and these arrangements help an organization to achieve its goals.

 


A well-defined organizational structure can be very crucial to an organization’s success and makes it achieve its goals much faster.

A weak or poor organizational structure can be confusing and conflicting for employees. It can lead to slow progressing and less efficient performing employees. This can make it hard for an organization to achieve its goals.
