Definition of Performance Gap

Performance gap analysis is done to measure the gap between the indented performance vs the actual performance of the employee at a certain position or a company on the whole as compared to its competitors. This analysis is done to figure out what an employee or a company is lacking and how the gap is bridged.

The performance gap is measured against the established benchmarks which are acceptable to achieve a certain performance level. Both an individual or company may need additional skills or training to achieve individual or organizational goals.
