Definition of Picketing

Picketing is a form of non-violent protest often carried out by trade or labor unions to draw the attention of management to a certain event or demands. In picketing protest, people gather outside the office or factory and don’t let employees or customers walk inside the premises.

The protest aims to put pressure on management to accept the demands or resolve the issues by harming the business with big loss through loss of customers, negative publicity, or slow down the manufacturing processes.
