The word agreement means coming in a way which is legally binding between two or more parties in any course of action. Hence, a premarital agreement is an agreement where couples agreed legally whether by saying verbally or in writing to make it legally bound agreement is known as a premarital agreement.
Premarital agreement happens before the marriage takes place. In Islam, signing Nikkah papers is the premarital agreement between the spouses. These agreements make the couple bound by the legal rights they have upon each other upon marrying.
